THE FUND is a high stakes series that gives an all-access look at the REAL inner workings of the fashion industry, taking the audience on a roller-coaster ride in search of America’s next top designer.
No set ups.
This is the REAL reality of what it takes to be America’s next great fashion designer.
Each year, a panel of esteemed industry judges selects the best of the emerging fashion scene for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Ten talented young designers compete for the ultimate prize of Fashion Fund Designer of the Year.
Anna Wintour, fashionʼs most powerful presence, oversees the competition and will appear as the head of the selection committee alongside CFDA president, designer, and fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg. Along with these fashion greats, the panel is composed of the Fashion Fund 2005 winner Derek Lam; CFDA CEO Steven Kolb; Coach president and designer Reed Krakoff; Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing; Jeffrey Kalinsky of the Jeffrey stores and head buyer for Nordstroms; J. Crew Creative Director Jenna Lyons; Andrew Rosen, president of Theory; and Mark Holgate, Fashion News Director for Vogue.
Over a six-month period, the committee of judges will put ten finalists to the test as they try to prove they are the future of American fashion. The process includes studio visits by the judges, a design challenge, a Vogue photo shoot, and a fashion show in the garden of the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
The winner receives a cash prize of $300,000 and a one-year mentorship with a leading industry expert.
